Funding Opportunities

$40 Million in First 5 Sacramento Funding Allocated 

Throughout the Fall of 2020 and into​ early 2021, First 5 Sacramento released multiple Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Applications (RFAs) ​​totaling over $40 million in funding. Contracts with the selected agencies will begin July 2021. Funding over a three-year period for services benefiting the health and well-being of young children is being allocated among the following priority areas​:

  • Preventing African American Child Deaths
  • Strengthening Families/Decreasing Child Abuse and Trauma​
  • Increasing Access to Early Care
  • Improving School Readiness
  • Building Quality Child Care Settings
  • Increasing Breastfeeding

Funding Recommendations:​​​​​​

​Proposals and applications have been reviewed for alignment with the requirements of the RFA and RFPs. From February through May, staff will be presenting the Commission with funding recommendations based on these reviews. Please see the following documents for recommendations:​
